18 Days to Italy

I can’t believe it’s almost here. The trip to Italy and study abroad program following immediately afterward are right around the corner. We’ve done a lot to prepare and it looks like we are finally set. We have lodging for day 1, an apartment in Rome, and hotel rooms in Florence and Venice. We all have updated passports and international driving permits. The car has been reserved. We’ve taken Italian classes and have our phrase books. We have power converters.

I suppose the only thing left to do is pack… and get through the rest of this semester… and hope that my work visa gets situated before we leave… and complete the syllabus for my course… and figure out if we should rent an international cell phone.

If anyone has any suggestions for odds and ends to pack, let me know. I already came up with a strange little list of the following: swim chamois, key chain flashlight, emergency rain poncho, ear plugs, and room spray.
